High school students from Round Lake-Brewster in Fulda's future?

Fulda School Board meeting
The Fulda School Board received a letter from the Round Lake-Brewster Cooperated School Districts requesting an interest in negotiating a Tuition Agreement. They are looking at negotiating multiple agreements with neighboring school districts. The students, ninth thru twelfth, would go to other districts. K-eighth would remain in their current elementary school facility. The Round Lake-Brewster school boards will meet this week to discuss the possibilities.

The consent agenda was approved which included two High School usage requests, two open enrollments out, one resignation of kitchen staff, one sick leave request. Karen Nygren was hired as a food service assistant. The Fulda Elementary was selected as a Minnesota Reading corps site for the 2013-14 program year. Fulda Elementary will be awarded one part time Literacy Coach.

Jessica Laleman was hired as Assistant Volleyball Coach.

A new business phone system was awarded to CenturyLink for the low bid of $26,371.62. The next low bid was Transcend United Technologies at $34,283.60.

In new business the board approved the advertisement for summer employment positions and the Service Cooperative contracts for the 2013-2014 school year. Membership in the Fulda Community Club was approved. Approval was given for a assistant Track Coach and additional Golf Coaches. The summer school program thru Nobles County Integration Collaborative was approved.

The board approved the contract for superintendent as negotiated with a small discussion over mileage reimbursement. The board also approved sharing the services with MCC. The agreement for services would split the cost of $139,039.88 including benefits. The contract is for three years with a $2000 increase per year.
