St. Paulís Lutheran School celebrated 120 years of schooling for area children during the week just past. Each day the students dressed up in costume and completely enjoyed the fun of celebrating the longevity of their school.

On Friday morning, St. Paulís Lutheran School students held their annual Grandparentsí Day celebration. The morning began with a special program held in the basement of St. Paulís Lutheran Church which was opened with a welcome by principal Leah Baumann, a reading of scripture by Will Gehl, Isaiah Olsem, and Jason Van Dyke, and an opening prayer by Pastor Shawn Ethridge.

The kindergarten class, taught by Melissa Kramer read short stories that they had written about their grandparents. They also presented a Grandparentsí Day poem and song.

During the program, the seventh and eighth grade band played Abide With Me and Yankee Doodle.

First and second grade students played handbells for the songs Mary Had a Little Lamb and Jesus Loves Me. They also presented a readerís theater entitled ďThe Sower and the Seed.ĒThe class is taught by Wendy Buschena.

Christy Milbrathís third and fourth grade students used records to play When the Saints Go Marching In, The B-I-B-L-E, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, and Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.

A short play entitled The Three Trees was presented by the Fifth and Sixth grade students. They also sang the wong When I Behold Jesus Christ. The class is taught by Nancy Sajban.

The entire student body sang one of Jennie Williamsenís songs entitled Faith, Hope, and Love to close out this yearís Grandparentsí Day Program.

Everyone in attendance was then invited to St. Paulís Lutheran School to tour the classrooms, view their studentís classroom work and art, and enjoy snacks.
