Fulda School Board accepts resignation of Mike Peterson

At a regular meeting of the Fulda School board held on Monday evening, the board accepted the resignation of Mike Peterson who has taught and coached in the Fulda School District for the past 35 years. Peterson will be retiring from teaching and coaching following the 2012 - 2013 summer band program.

The resignation of Kristin Peltola, Licensed School Counselor was also accepted. A contract was approved for Tina Kanthak who will begin working as the school counselor on August 1, 2013.

Karmel Holinka was hired for the Assistant Track Coach position; Michael Peterson for the Head Boys golf Coach position; and Brett Perish for the Jr. High Girls Golf Coach position.

Open enrollments were accepted for two students beginning March 18th: one who will be in the ninth grade, and one in third grade.

It was noted that the Junior High Band will be holding their annual Spring Hoagie Sandwich Sale on Saturday, April 13th.

The Board approved the contract for Technology Coordinator Patricia Kramer.

Approved was the Districtís Special Education Summer School Program. It will be held Monday - Thursday, 8:30-11:30 for two weeks for a total of eight days.

Also approved was a senior class trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska. The date of the trip will be Monday, May 20, 2013.

The members of the Fulda School Board are continuing to meet with Round Lake/ Brewster School Board members for tuition planning.

The next regular meeting of the Fulda School Board will be held on May 13, 2013, at 6 p.m.
