The Adrian golf team outshot the Raiders on Monday afternoon by a score of 197-201. It was a gorgeous afternoon but the hometown Dragons put a bit of a damper on the Raiders day by putting together one of their better scores in recent years.

Medalist honors went to Adrian's Katie Wieneke with a 44. Second place medal honors went to Madeline Westra who shot a very nice round of 45. Madeline had one birdie, two pars, four bogeys and one double bogey as she stepped up on the last tee box hoping to cap off a fantastic round. Good fortune was not on her side as she hit one out of bounds and one into the bunker on her approach shot for an 8 on the par 4 hole. Coach Carlson commented, “Maddy golfed great on the day even with that unfortunate finish. She is showing great maturity in her game and her swing is so smooth this year and she is so confident in what she is doing. She is really enjoying the game!”

Brittany Leinen golfed great with a 47 as she parred one hole and had 5 bogeys. “Brittany is a great competitor and has really improved her swing. She is really a smart golfer,” said Coach Carlson.

Katie Reynolds finished with a 52 as she picked up one par and one bogey on the day as she showed some nice adjustments on the course.

Marissa Kunerth earned the fourth scoring spot with a round of 57 as she continues to improve.

Caitlin Strenge and Nicole Sandhurst finished out the scoring for Raiders with rounds of 58 and 64 respectively.

Tatym Zins and Sophia Spittle both golfed junior varsity as Tatym shot her best round shooting a 60 and Sophia golfed her first complete round ever in her first year of golf and had fun doing it!
