Do you have a few extra hours in your week? Want to get involved in the community?

The Fulda Food Shelf is in need of several volunteers to help on the days the Food Shelf is open. It takes three people to run the Food Shelf on those days. Volunteers would be stocking shelves, assisting clients with filling bags if need be and in some cases, assist them to their vehicles. Volunteers are also needed to help unload food truck, this would be an on-call program.

“Maybe you don’t want to commit to volunteering everytime the Food Shelf is open,” said Volunteer Coordinator Syd Halverson. “That’s fine. We will take your help one day a month if that is all you can give.”

Syd is in charge of scheduling volunteers to work during open hours. Each Monday the Food Shelf is open involves 1 1/2 to 2 hours of a volunteer’s time.

The Fulda Food Shelf is located at St. Gabriel's School and is open the 1st Monday of each month from 10:00-11:00 a.m., the 3rd Monday of each month from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and on the 4th Monday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

If you are interested in being a Fulda Food Shelf volunteer contact Syd Halverson at 425-2211 for days and times that need to be filled for the summer.
