Sunday, May 12th through Saturday, May 18th was celebrated as Homes for the Aging Week at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Mapleview Estates and Maplewood Court. This year’s theme was Everyone Pitches In. Each staff department was recognized on a different day of the week.

Monday was Hat Day and residents and staff alike wore a variety of hats. Staff from the laundry department were recognized.

Tuesday was Athletic Attire Day and employees of the restorative therapy department were recognized. A friendly game of softball took place in the great outdoors with three teams competing (just for the fun of it!) for the top score of the afternoon. Residents from Maple Lawn Nursing Home formed one team, residents from Mapleview Estates were on another team, and residents from Maplewood Court comprised another team.

When the game reached its end the team from Maplewood Court had earned a winning score of 54! Mapleview Estates came in second with a score of 48 and Maple Lawn Nursing Home came in third with a score of 42. It was a great game with a lot of smiles and a lot of hot sunshine! Ice cream was served to the team members and spectators following the game.
