Fulda Summer Festival will begin on Friday, July 8th with fun and games for everyone. The theme this year is Fun In The Sun.
Girl Scout Camp had to be held inside on Tuesday because of the rainy weather with 21 girls and their leaders churning butter and doing needle-crafts.
The Board of Education discussed the Community Education Directors contract and named a committee to revise policies at their special meeting Thursday evening.
Several members of the Fulda City Council have had a Notice of Claim filed on them by Tom LeTourneau and are being sued for $100,000. The claim includes being dismissed without just cause and not having an opportunity to be heard. The Council voted at their last meeting to reduce the Fulda Police Department staff from two man to one man.
Extremely high winds on Friday morning left storm damage to trees with winds up to 80 mph. The rainy weather of the last few weeks have left many roads and ditches flooded or washed out.
Shelli Hemmen and Lonn Engler were united in marriage on June 18th at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dovray.

United States Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy, along with Governor Arne Carlson, viewed the devastation of croplands in southwest Minnesota last Wednesday, June 30th. Representative Ted Winter also spent time listening to local farmers about flood damage.
The water continues to rise in Murray County as more than four and one half inches were dumped on the area over the weekend. Many roads, bridges and fields are under water. County Road 34, had three feet of water flowing over it on Saturday.
The Fulda Raider Marching Band placed third out of 15 in the 80 to 100-member division behind St. Calhoun Pioneer Marching Band and Central Virginia County Band in Washington D.C. on the Fourth of July.
The Fulda Police Department responded to an accident on July 5th one mile north of Fulda at the Prairie Hill Cemetery corner where a 1989 Mazda collided with a 1986 Mercury. Both vehicles were totaled.
It's strawberry picking time at Schumacher's Berry Farm in Heron Lake.
Kristin Bogie and Scot Spittle announce their engagement. The couple plans a September 4th wedding day.
Ruth Schumacher passed away at the age of 81 on June 29th.
