In a freak accident on Wednesday morning at Cooperative Energy Cardtrol on Front Street, a metal cover punched a hole into the passenger side fuel tank on a Western Consolidated Cooperative, Montevideo, MN, truck tractor. The driver stated that he had turned into Cooperative Energy, driven over the square plates, looked out his window and saw fuel running out from under the tractor of the semi-truck. He immediately spread an absorbent under the fuel tank and alongside of the tractor and trailer.

Minnesota Pollution Control was contacted as well as Cooperative Energy and Western Consolidated Cooperative who worked together to clean up the diesel fuel spill.

Fulda Polic Chief Paul Kenney and Fulda City employee Doug Tiesler immediately responded to the emergency call.
