Thursday, July 11, 1963

The Water Festival will be held here on July 13-14 with twelve ladies up for Queen; Janis Goins, Dayle Defries, Mary Eichten, Kay Freetly, Diane Mathias, Linda Kremer, Pennie Wohlers, Bernice Mansmith, Ruth Ann Bestge, Darlene Dierks, Barbara Mansmith and Kathy Luehmann.

Appearing in the water show, and making a pyramid on skis will be Vicki Simmons on top, Darlene Dierks and Ruth Ann Bestge on the bottom.

Thomas Webb has been appointed as V.A.V.S. chairman at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital at Sioux Falls, SD.

The ritual of the Blessing of the Lutheran Parsonage and the installation of the new pastor, the Rev. Sherman Bhon, was conducted in Dundee on Sunday.

Clay Smith passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd in Benson. Mr. Smith was 76 years old.

Virgil Klosterman passed away at the age of 45 as a result of injuries sustained in a recent accident. The accident, which occurred ten days before his death, also claimed the lives of his wife and her mother.

Charles Greig passed away at the age of 86 on July 1st.

Wallace G. Behm has accepted a position as High School Principal at Morris and will be leaving his position at the Fulda High School. Mr. Behm has served as principal here since 1953 and as teacher here since 1951.

Mrs. John Morley, Michael, Pat, Kit, Mary, Byron and Colleen, were on their way from St. Paul to Fulda when their car rolled east of Windom. Mrs. Morley and Mary received stitches. One of the boys received a broken nose and crushed cheekbone and was taken to St. Joseph's in St. Paul.

Flowers at the altar and the railing at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dundee made a beautiful setting for the wedding of Joan Mathias and Louis Appel on July 6th.

Thursday, July 14, 1983

The Dundee clowns were in attendance for the Fulda Fun in the Sun Summer Festival held this past weekend. The six-member team enjoys participating in area parades.

Dundee “Nothing Days” is approaching fast! The celebration will be held on July 29, 30, and 31.

The Fulda City Council gave approval to the Fulda Fire Department and Ambulance Association for the remodeling of the storage area to make more office space. The Council also voted 3 to 1 to purchase another water pump.

Fulda will celebrate Crazy Days on Friday.

Susan Hartlep and David Jarvis were united in marriage at Dundee Lutheran Church on June 18th with Pastor Mark E. Christofferson officiating.

Julie Kramer placed 1st in the 400 Meter Dash at the Hershey State Track Meet held in St. Cloud on July 9th.

Raymond Johnson passed away on July 8th at the age of 68 years old after suffering a Cerebral Hemorrhage.

The Fulda Raider Marching Band did their hometown proud in the historic Washington D.C. parade on July 4th.

Jerry Geriach, commercial Grain specialist with Farmers Commodities Corporation, spoke to a crowd of about 100 area farmers about the status of the grain markets.

A Legislative Committee made a stop in Tyler and Ormsby on Monday asking for input and concerns on the weather related farm crisis. According to local farmers 20 out of the 30 days of June saw rain fall in measurable amounts.

Adrian looked something like a war zone in the aftermath of last Saturday's deluge. Up to seven inches of rain fell in the area within three hours forcing the evacuation of the campground. Minnesota 91 and Interstate 90 were closed until Sunday. The asphalt surface of Kentucky Avenue was washed up and carried away by flood waters. Indiana Avenue, also a north-south street had similar damage.

Wendy Gruis and Travis Sievers announce their engagement. A September 23 wedding is being planned.

Connie Wahl and Buck Johlfs were married on April 3rd at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda.

Gerald Crowley and Gabriella Orrego announce their upcoming wedding. A September 4th wedding day is being planned.

Julia Dorpinghaus passed away at the Worthington Hospital at the age of 94 years old.

Leo Clark passed away at the age of 84 on July 10th.
