Fulda Elementary School numbers up by 20
At the monthly meeting of the Fulda School Board, enrollment numbers for the 2013-2014 year indicate that there will be 24 students in kindergarten, 22 in first grade, 25 in second grade, 19 in third grade, 20 in fourth grade, 18 in fifth grade and 20 in sixth grade. That is a 20 student increase over last year’s enrollement numbers at Fulda Elementary School.

Five new students to the Fulda District were accepted through open enrollment.

Hired as a food service worker was Shawn Harvey.

Approval was given for six students to participate in Cross Country at Murray County Central. All fees and transportation will be paid by the students and their parents.

The board accepted the resignation of teacher Brett Perish. Jonathon Curry was hired for the full-time Social Science teaching position and assistant football coach.

Through the Fulda Community Education report from Jessica Mitchell, it was indicated that over 100 kids participated in the various activities offered through the Summer Recreation programs.

The members of the school board voted to approve policy #761 - Meal Charge Policy. The purpose of the policy is to establish consistent meal account procedures at Fulda Public Schools.

Bimbo Bakeries was approved to supply the District’s bread needs for the coming school year.

A vote was made in favor of $26,859.00 being contributed to the Nobles County Integration Collaborative.

Also approved was the LearnPad Student Handbook. LearnPad teachnology will be available to all students in grades 5-6 for the 2013-2014 school year.

Work needs to be done to add a hood over the dishwasher at Fulda High School. The board voted to accept an estimate from Spartz Plumbing and Heating for this work to be done. The estimate does not include freight and sur charge, electrical or duct work or a carpenter, if needed.

The Fulda School Board will hold its annual Retreat at the Fulda High School Library on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013, at 7 p.m.
