The city makes pay adjustments and reviews budget

August 30, 2013

Fulda City Council
A special Fulda city budget meeting started out with a salary increase for police officer Alexis Gass to bring the city into Pay Equity Compliance. The increase of $4..30 per hour will be retro-active to the first of the year. Police Chief Paul Kenney will start receiving pay for call out time and time and half when working holidays following the Fair Labor Standards act. The increase will start with the next pay period.
A bid to change the a City Clerk-Treasurer title to Administer/Clerk-Treasuer was tabled until the next meeting Tuesday September 3rd. The change could be viewed as a new position that may have to be advertised and open for applications. The City would have to defend the change position with past procedures. The cost to the City would increase over ten thousand dollars per year.
The proposed budget was reviewed with $1,101,387.00 in revenues and $1,036,825.00 in expenditures for 2014. The budget will be revised and the tax levy will be adjusted to meet the expense.
