New addition at the Fulda Food Shelf

August 30, 2013

Submitted
A chest type freezer was recently donated to the Fulda Food Shelf along with a refrigerator that has yet to arrive.

The local food shelf will now be able to offer some perishable food products although on a limited basis for awhile. The volunteers are busy stocking the shelves as well as the freezer. Anyone wanting to donate local garden produce should contact the food shelf or one of it's volunteers.

During August the food shelf received an order from Second Harvest which provides food products to food shelves throughtout the area. Helping unload the semi was volunteers from FCCLA as well as several community members and the food shelf volunteers.

The food shelf appreciates the Fulda community for their support in keeping our small operation running. Food drives, gifts from churches and individuals, support from our local grocery store, Maynards, and a few grants, we are able to keep our shelves stocked. Although some products are always in need, such as cake mixes, and frosting, kid friendly cereals, soups, and canned fruits. Any donation is always appreciated and is well needed.

The Fulda Food Shelf will not be open for business on Labor Day, Monday, September 2 but will again be open on Monday, September 16 from 2-3 pm. And Monday, September 23 from 6-7 pm. Any questions please call 425-2211.
