Catherine Ruppert was born on August 14, 1912 on the family farm southwest of Iona, Minnesota to Theodore and Victoria Knepper Ruppert. Catherine grew up on the family farm and attended St. Columba School in Iona. Catherine and her brother, Philip lived on the family farm for 56 years. She worked hand and hand with Philip on the farm until they retired. In 1968 they build a new home in Iona. Catherine remained there until 2002 when she moved to the Golden Living Center-Slayton. Catherine passed away there on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 101. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Iona. Catherine also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a past member of the Iona Senior Citizens. Catherine enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elizabeth Beach, four brothers, Philip, Joseph, Nicholas and Leo Ruppert and two nieces.

St. Columba Church in Iona, MN on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. James Seitz officiating. The organist is Sharon Lais. The song leader is Joanne Halbur. The pallbearers are Paul Ruppert, Rich Beach, Joe Metz, Steve Muecke, Scott Muecke and Dave Kremer. Interment is at St. Columba Cemetery Iona, MN.

The family would like to thank the Golden Living Center-Slayton for the wonderful care that Catherine received while she was a resident.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Columba Church in Iona with a CDA Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is entrusted with arrangements. To send condolences visit
