Thursday, October 24, 1963

The Fulda High School will host the 1964 Southwest Minnesota Student Council Convention. Student council representatives and their advisors attend the interesting and educational meeting depicting democracy at its finest.

Four new homes are nearing completion in Fulda including those of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Amborn, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schwarz, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo P. Hogan.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Clyde A. Gerber, two-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gerber. Rev. A. J. Kretzschmar officiated.

Mr. and Mrs. Utz celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary with a dinner at Michael's Steak House on October 15th.

Marilyn M. Davis is engaged to Steven Betz. No wedding date has been set.

Citizens of Tomorrow include JoAnn Pawlitschek, Brenda and Danny Eichinger, Stuart Sneer, Michael and David Suedbeck, Terry and Todd Lanoue, Mark Goins, Jerry Kirchner, and Steven and Mary Heger.

The Fulda Lions Club is sponsoring a sight and hearing clinic for preschool age children and have contributed expense money to Mrs. Phelps, who chairs this project. One of the first duties of Lions Clubs all over the world is to assist where and when ever possible in the work with visually handicapped.

Mr. and Mrs. Lavoy Lund are the parents of a son born on October 20th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dorpinghaus and Mr. and Mrs. Alfie Lund.

Mr. and Mrs. Bud Stanton are the parents of a son, Jerry born on October 16th. Grandmother is Mrs. Robert Stanton.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry McKeever are the parents of a girl born October 20th.

Moonlight Madness hits Fulda this Friday - bargains galore will be offered at Fulda businesses.

Jaycee Women donate $378.79 to the Maple Lawn Nursing Home to assist in paying for the facilities air conditioning.

The combination of frequent rains, cool temperatures, and persistent cloudiness produced very poor conditions for the farmers this fall. An average of only 2 days were suitable for fieldwork during the past week. Topsoil moisture as of October 21st was rated 44% adequate.

Wilma Pollard passed away Monday evening at the Slayton Hospital.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Kaylene Zemler, Scott and Liza Knorr, and Nicholas Bergman.

Gertrude M. Radick passed away on October 21, 1983 after an illness of about 16 months. Gertrude was 73 years old.

Martin H. Krueger passed away at the age of 73 years old.

Fulda Women of Today hold an annual scarecrow contest.

Construction of Dundee's new fire hall/municipal building is well underway and Mayor Wayne Paplow estimates that within about three weeks the building will be in use.

Fulda International Club has made a commitment for a trip to five European countries in 1994 including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and France.

Fiber optic lines are being installed in Fulda by a company in Sioux Falls and will provide digital processing for computers, call waiting for phones and much more.

The Fulda Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Sunday night that burned its way into a farm place grove about four miles southwest of Fulda.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Portz will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house on November 14th.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Corey and Crystal Brinkman, Shelby and Tyler Witzel, and Alicia and Tammy Peterson.

Lucille Erickson passed away on October 19th at the age of 70 years old.
