SAWS sewer lines extension questioned during open forum

The Murray County Board of Commissioners accepted a snowmobile grant for maintenance of the trails. The 2014 grant agreement is $27,508.80. Christy Riley reported on the recent Murray County Historical Society annual meeting held on Sunday, October 20. Brad Bergerson, Gary Kass and Dennis Miller were elected as new board members for three year terms. New by-laws were approved. Officers for 2014 are Brian Harmsen, chairman, LuAnn Parker - vice chairman, Christy Riley - secretary and Linda Wing - treasurer. Janet Timmerman coordinator of the museums was present and expressed a positive message and is ready to get going. Her start date is November 4.

Commissioner Robert Moline was appointed to the Minnesota Public Sector Collaborative board - county health insurance plan. Gerald Magnus is alternate.

Jon Bloemendaal recently attended the fall conference for feedlot training at St. Cloud and presented a report of the conference to the board. Included in the sessions were: How to understand people, review of state laws, a site tour of a feed lot and a panel discussion of feedlots, a member of the dairy association, etc.

Marcy Barritt, county assessor, requested $4,750 for Phase 1 of the implementation of the Property Record Information System of Minnesota, (PRISM) project. The fund will be used by the software vendor for the design, programming and verification of the data’s accuracy to extract the data from the current real estate tax database. The state has authorized a grant of $300,000 to be equally divided among the approved grantees (other counties in the state).
