Coming off a loss to Lakeview on November 30th, the Fulda girls basketball team looked to notch a victory for their win column.

Fulda traveled to Westbrook on Thursday evening and took care of the Chargers posting a 71-48 victory.

The girls were in control of the game throughout gaining a 10-2 advantage by the 11:00 mark in the game.

Sariah Cheadle kicked off the scoring drive dropping three of her 33 points on the night on an assist from Nicole Madison.

Melissa Gehl followed up with a layup off a steal and on the following trip, Madison found Courtney Tiesler for two points.

Sariah Cheadle and Melissa Gehl dominated the game scoring inside and out.

With 5:42 on the clock in the first half Fulda held a commanding 26-7 advantage.

Freshman Emma Woelber aided her Charger team as she dropped in five points connected on a two and following up with a long range three-pointer. Mady Johnson added another two points to pull WWG within fourteen, 14-28.

Melissa Gehl finished off the scoring for the first half by nailing both of her free throw attempts, 30-15.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove came out of the locker room after half time to put up eight points. Fulda quickly dug in and gathered themselves with Sariah helping to lead the way.

Myah Holinka and Dani Hermeling put up a couple of free throws to go along with a three point shot from Madison to help open the offensive giving Fulda a 59-33 advantage with six minutes left to play in the game.

Junior, Elizabeth Woelber nailed a three pointer for the home and Kaylee Mischke added an offensive board and put.

With less than two minutes left to play, Sariah was on a receiving end of a passes from Gehl and Tiesler converting them into points. As the final seconds ticked down Mady Johnson (WWG) added a baseline conversion to close out the scoring, 71-48.

Sariah Cheadle finished the night converting 9 of 17 attempts in the paint along five three pointers along with grabbing six boards in the contest.

Melissa Gehl contributed 17 points while nabbing up steals and 16 rebounds.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove shot 15 of 50 for 30% in the game while Fulda dropped in 27 of 95 for 28.4%.

Fulda will face off Wabasso on Friday night with a 6:00 p.m. start time.
