By Norma Dittman
A number of events have been scheduled within the Fulda Community for the 2014 year. These events support the Fulda community as well as providing time for socialization with friends and neighbors. Socializing together, in turn, builds a healthier and stronger community. So, mark your calendars with the activities listed below and look forward to attending the events!

On January 18th, the Fulda Lionís 7th and 8th grade Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament will be held. Games will be played at both Fulda Elementary School and Fulda High School.

Fuldaís 11th Annual Farm, Home and Garden Show will be held at the Fulda Community Legion Hall on Saturday, January 25th. This Fulda Community Club sponsored event promises to offer a variety of vendors from throughout the area, as well as delicious concessions.

Friday evening, January 31st, is the date of the Fulda Fish and Game Clubís Fish-A-Rama. The members of the club prepare about 4,000 pounds of smoked carp each year for the delectable event. In case of inclement weather, the Fish-A-Rama will take place on February 7th at Fulda Community Legion Hall.

Nothing is better than a stack of hot cakes on a cold morning. Fulda Boy Scouts will serve their annual Pancake Feed at Fulda Community Legion Hall on Sunday, February 2nd!

The Fulda Ambulance Association will hold their annual fundraiser on Saturday, February 8th at Fulda Community Legion Hall.

On February 15th, Fulda Community Legion Hall will be filled with the spicy scent of chili as the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club hold their annual Chili Cook-off and Feed. The event raises funds for scholarships that are awarded to area high school seniors.

Another chance to enjoy fluffy, warm pancakes comes on Sunday, March 2nd, when the Fulda Heritage Society holds their annual Pancake Feed Fundraiser. The Pancake Feed will take place at the Fulda Community Legion Hall.

And on Palm Sunday, April 13th, plan to take the spouse and family to the Fulda Lionís Pancake Breakfast. This event will also be held at the Fulda Community Legion Hall.

Entertainment at its best will be available to area residents on April 11th, 12th, and 13th, as they sit back and watch the Fulda Community Playerís rendition of You Canít Take It With You. The three-act comedy will keep the audience laughing and wondering about the characters and their bizarre behaviors.

Looking forward to a summer of fun, Fulda School District students will complete the 2013-2014 school year on Friday, May 23rd. This is also the day that, with pomp and circumstance, Fulda High School seniors will cross the stage one last time. Graduation ceremonies will be held in the gymnasium of the school.

Activities rev up as the City prepares for its annual celebration of the Fulda Wood Duck Festival, which will be held on June 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd.

Fulda Community Clubís Holiday Craft Bazaar will be held on November 22nd at Fulda High School.

Tina Slaathaug, Chair of the Parade of Lights committee, has stated that planning for the 2014 Parade of Lights has already begun. The date will be announced closer to the event date.

Donít forget that the kind-hearted, jolly old man, Santa Claus, has already said that he will return to Fulda to visit with boys and girls of all ages as the 2014 Christmas Holiday approaches.

Many other events will take place throughout Fulda during the 2014 year. Be sure to read the pages of the weekly editions of the Fulda Free Press to stay informed about activities and events that you may enjoy attending.
