Heron Lake Young Menís Club
The annual Heron Lake Young Menís Club Ice Fishing Tournament was held on Saturday, February 8. There were 309 people registered to fish at West Graham Lake. ďWe had a few more than that last year, but it was warmer that day,Ē said Travis Miranowski, one of the Young Menís Club members.

Fishing was enjoyed in the afternoon, with only perch caught. No walleye or northerns were taken, so the prizes for those categories were given by random draw.

The Young Menís Club presents funds raised to various youth organizations in the area, including the summer recreation program, school patrol and library reading program.

In addition to the fishing, the Young Menís Club held their annual raffle, giving away a 2013 Arctic Cat 500 4x4. Winning the top prize was Donna Hanson of Heron Lake.

Second prize, an ION Electric Ice Auger, was won by John Hay, Heron Lake.

A Laz/er Gas Ice Auger was third prize, presented to Denny Vosburgh of Worthington.

The winner of third prize, a BIAKAL .410/.22 Over/Under Gun, was Cassandra Glaser of Heron Lake.

The Frabill Two Man Fish House, fifth prize, went to Chriss Anderson, Marshall.

Sixth prize was presented to Rob Renken, a Big Game Tripod Deer Stand.

Jeremy Wallenburg from Luverne won seventh prize, a Marlin XT .17 caliber HMR.

Eighth and ninth prizes were each one-half of a processed hog. Scott Place and Wendy Tungland won those prizes, donated by The Butcher Shop of Lakefield and New Fashion Pork.

Tenth through twelfth prizes were each $50 cash, won by Brad DeJager, Lee Anderson and Matt Oleske.
