February 18, 2014
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Murray County will host a team kickoff event on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Slayton Pizza Ranch.

The team kickoff is for current team captains as well as anyone thinking about starting up a new team or looking to join a current team. Information will be handed out as we get the 2014 Murray County Relay for Life started. The 2014 Murray County Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Murray County Fairgrounds.

The world's largest grassroots fundraising movement, Relay For Life mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and provide participants with an opportunity to fight back against cancer.

This year, Relay For Life will take place in nearly 6,000 communities in the United States and 20 other countries and will raise funds to support the mission of the American Cancer Society to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures, and fighting back.

For more information about the upcoming kickoff, please contact Leslie Wajer at 507-360-0494 or leslie.wajer@ pas.k12.mn.us. Sign up for Relay For Life of Murray County today and help our community finish the fight against cancer! Like us on FaceBook too at Relay For Life of Murray County MN.

About the

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers saving lives and fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society's efforts have contributed to a 20 percent decline in cancer death rates in the U.S. since 1991, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks in part to our progress nearly 14 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will celebrate more birthdays this year. We're finding cures as the nation's largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more. For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, call us anytime, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
