Third Annual Heritage Country Show is Sunday

Mylan Ray, of Pipestone, will host the Third Annual Heritage Country Show.

The third annual Heritage Country Show will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2 p.m., in the Fulda High School gymnasium.

Featured will be several local artists performing the music of some of country music's greatest performers. The host for the Third Annual Heritage Country Show will be well-known radio personality, Mylan Ray.

Ray is from Pipestone, Minnesota. He has been a disc jockey for many years for KLOH radio, and has a reputation of providing quality entertainment. He is a member of both the Iowa and the South Dakota Hall of Fame.

Entertainers for the afternoon program will include Melissa Schulz, Mahtomedi, MN. She is the owner of Movin' Melodies and has performed karaoke from south west Minnesota all the way to Minneapolis, MN.

Gloria Jean Wieneke was born and raised in Lismore, MN. She is a Loretta Lynn tribute singer and has spent time at the Loretta Lynn Dude Ranch as a entertainer at the Western Town Saloon. She also sings songs that were performed by Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Terri Clark. Her newest CD is called "Old Country School".

Jerry Davis is from Slayton, MN. He has played guitar and sang since the mid 1960's. He plays traditional and classic country music and has performed all over the United States and on the Pacific Princess " The Love Boat". He is known as "The Country Gentleman".

Allen and Nancy Jansen are from Heron Lake, MN, and have been singing together for 50 years. This couple has performed at the “Old West Days” in Valentine, Nebraska and “The National Traditional Country Music Association in LeMars, Iowa. They have just recorded their first CD entitled “Truest Love” featuring Allen on guitar and Nancy on flute.

Paulette Whiteford, Windom, MN, began singing in 2005 and considers herself to be strictly a karaoke singer. Whiteford is honored to be a part of the Heritage Country Show.

Cindy Harvey, Worthington, MN, brings a rich history of song and dance to this year’s Heritage Country Show. She is a past member of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Sweet Adelines, and an avid karaoke singer.

Roger Harvey is from Worthington, Minnesota. He is the owner/operator of Harvey’s Upholstery. He is married to Cindy. He and Cindy share a deep love of music.

Gene McClellan has a voice as rich and deep as that of Johnny Cash. Gene is from Dovray, Minnesota, where he continues to operate the family farm with his wife, Julie and sons, Daniel and David.

Doc Schwarz is from Fulda. He has played in many bands over the past 35 years with the most well-known one being The Banditos. Schwarz has played at Bolder Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has recorded one song - The Green, Green Grass of Home. He loves to sing old country and karaoke.

Just a few of the songs that will be performed during the event include Guess Things Happen That Way, One Night at a Time, Abilene, You’re Not One of Them, Windmills and Cornfield, Old Chunk of Coal, Daddy Sang Bass, Cowboy Sweetheart, and I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

Come and enjoy the sounds of country at the Third Annual Heritage Country Show! It promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment.
