Raider girls traveled to Adrian for meet

May 2, 2014

Thursday
Last Thursday the Fulda golfers traveled to Adrian for a golf meet at the Adrian Country Club. The Adrian girls outshot the Raiders by a score of 186-219. Co-medalists for the day belonged to the Adrian golfers as Marissa Veld shot a 43 as did her teammate Katie Wieneke.

Leading the Raiders was Brittany Leinen who struggled on just one hole and turned in a score of 50 recording one par and four bogeys.

Katie Reynolds had trouble on two holes and then played some nice golf with a score of 51 as she had three pars in a row and also picked up 3 bogeys.

Claire Westra and Tatym Zins turned in the final two scores as each girl shot a 59. Claire really only had difficulty on two holes and continued to play her steady game. Tatym started her second varsity match and this is her first score towards a team score as Tatym golfed her best match score of the season.

Nicole Sauer golfed her first varsity match of her career and shot a decent round and gained some valuable experience.

Eighth grader Amber Breuker struggled on a couple holes but continues to learn new things each match and has a true love for the game. She will only get better and will continue to contribute to the team.

Tayler Warborg was the only JV golfer from Fulda and beat her two opponents from Adrian and also gained some experience on a different course.

The weather was great on the afternoon and the girls had a great attitude and will continue to work to get their team score near or under the 200 mark. Good effort girls!
