Winning performances by juniors Sydney Cuperus in the discus (98-5) and Sariah Cheadle in the long jump (14-0), along with four places in the pole vault, helped Fulda earn third place in the team standings of the girls division at the five-team Panther Invitational high school track and field meet in Tracy last Tuesday, April 22.

Host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton won the meet, racking up 170 points. The combination of Cedar Mountain, Comfrey and Springfield was a close second with 159. Fulda tallied 101 points, while Wabasso (59) and Westbrook-Walnut Grove / Red Rock Central (47) also competed.

Among the other high individual placings for the Raiders were freshman Nicole Madison (27-10 1/4) and Cuperus (27-2) with a second and third, respectively, in the shot put, a third by eighth-grader Camryn Baumhoefner in the 200 meter dash (28.62) and a third by Madison in the 400 (1:08.45).

Sophomore Nikkie Bounsavang and freshman Alyssa Williams each cleared the pole vault bar at 6-0, placing third and fourth, respectively, while freshman Kendall Clarke and senior Myah Holinka tied for fifth, both also clearing six feet, but with more misses than Bounsavang or Williams.

Fulda placed fourth in all four relays and claimed four individual fourths, including Baumhoefner (100, 14.15), junior Madison Dibble (1600, 6:38.06), senior Jessica Schindler (discus, 78-5) and freshman Bailey Wagner (high jump, 4-4).

Senior Alli VandenBosch cleared 4-0 and placed fifth in the high jump, while individual sixths were earned by Wagner in the long jump (12-5 1/2), senior Inez Drakenberg in the 100 meter high hurdles (21.26) and by eighth-grader Allison Kenney in the shot put (26-4 1/4).

Completing the relays for the Raiders were the quartet of Cheadle, Suzanne Pagel, Courtney Tiesler and Williams in the 4x100 (:58.62), the foursome of Melissa Gehl, Cheadle, Tiesler and Courtney Zins (4x200, 2:02.46), the team of Williams, Pagel, Tiesler and Madison (4x400, 4:53.95) and the group of Gehl, VandenBosch, Dibble and Cheadle (4x800, 12:23).
