Marty Seifert, (R) candidate for the Office of the Governor of the State of Minnesota, visited Fulda on Friday morning. He is on a statewide campaign with the intent of visiting all 87 counties in Minnesota prior to the August 12 GOP primary.

Seifert is a lifelong, middle-class Minnesotan. He was born in Springfield in 1972, and was raised on his family’s farm near Clement. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Southwest Minnesota State University in 1995 along with a secondary teaching license.

He has worked as a public school teacher, university admission counselor, real estate agent, and a small business owner. He was in the Minnesota House of Representatives for thirteen years. He has most recently worked as the Executive Director of a hospital foundation.

“My candidacy is about bringing the state together. I can bring a lot of common sense to the governor’s office. I believe that I am the only gubernatorial candidate who was raised on a farm and knows what it is to live in rural Minnesota. I understand small town. Unless you live small town and farm, you don’t get it,” Seifert commented.

He chose Pam Myhra as his lieutenant governor candidate. She is a middle-class suburban mom and current state representative from Burnsville, MN. Myhra is a legislative leader on Early Childhood, Education and Tax issues.
