Donna Bastemeyer-Parlin will be teaching 7th grade United States History, 9th grade Civics, 11th grade History, and 12th grade Government and Psychology at Fulda High School during the coming school year.
Bastemeyer-Parlin is a graduate of Lennox High School, Lennox, SD. She has attended the University of Sioux Falls, and recently graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a degree in History and Social Studies.
Bastemeyer-Parlin lived and worked in South Dakota for several years before moving to Marshall, MN, where she was a paraprofessional at the Marshall Middle School. “That job really got me back into thinking about going to college to teach history and social studies,” she stated. “I love history and social studies and know how important it is to be involved in government issues and stay informed about those issues. I received encouragement from a teacher who noticed how much I enjoyed being in the classroom and working with the students. She was very encouraging that I go back to school for a teaching degree. I just finished the course this summer.”
