Closing the first half with a 20-2 burst, the Adrian/Ellsworth Dragons claimed a 66-28 victory over the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes in a Red Rock Conference high school girls’ basketball game last Friday night (January 24) at Fulda.
HL-O/F led 7-4 early and stayed close to A/E for most of the first half, as the Dragons led by just three points (19-16) with about five minutes to play before halftime.
But the Dragons closed the half with an 18-point run — capped by a 3-pointer just before the buzzer sounded — to take a 39-18 lead going into the locker room. A/E outscored HL-O/F 27-10 in the second half.
