Getting points from eight players in a very balanced scoring effort, the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda C-Squad boys’ basketball competed favorably in a game at Southwest Minnesota Christian High School in Edgerton last Thursday, January 30.
The Coyotes earned a 16-15 halftime lead on the Eagles, who had soared past them in convincing fashion (56-19) at Okabena four weeks earlier on January 2.
But this time, the improving HLOF C-Squad — which was riding a three-game winning streak — held their own and battled well the entire game.
The Coyotes played hard, but did not shoot the best. As a team, HLOF made just 11-of-24 free throws (46 percent), six-of-28 two-point field goals (21 percent) and only 1-of-12 three-pointers (eight percent).
