Cystic Fibrosis. What is that? It sounds like something from outer space. If you had asked Joe or Tara Einck what CF was before their second child Riley was born, they couldn’t give you an answer. Today they can talk the talk because they have been walking the CF walk with Riley since he was two days old.
Riley Einck was born on October 30, 2012. “Almost a Halloween baby,” Mom Tara says with a smile. When he was born there weren’t any complications and everything seemed the same as when their oldest child, Natalie, was born. But, remember Mom’s when the nurse or doctor pricks your babies toe and they will tell you it’s for the newborn screen? That’s when the Einck’s knew their life would change. Two days after the test the doctor called and told them Riley had Cystic Fibrosis, CF.
Joe and Tara are carriers, something they found out after Riley’s diagnosis.
