Events and activities canceled due to COVID-19

As the real threat of COVID-19 is spreading, events and activities  are being canceled.

At this time, Fulda School District will close its doors to students beginning Wednesday, March 18th. Superintendent Loy Woelber said that students are basically on “vacation” during this time period (March 18th through March 27th).

The following information has been provided by Superintendent Woelber:

• Teachers will be in the school buildings beginning Wednesday, March 18th, to plan and work on current and future education needs.

• A plan will be in place to begin offering school-age care services to children of healthcare and emergency workers as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020. There will be no cost for those child care services during normal school hours for the children of healthcare and emergency workers. Care will be provided by licensed staff, paraprofessionals and/or other support staff who would normally be working during the school day.

• Educators’ children are also eligible for the school-age care for children of emergency workers services during the school day. School staff are critical in providing the care.

• Hours of the care will be 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for State determined essential workers (teachers, first responders, firefighters, personnel providing correctional services, essential court personnel, Minnesota State Veterans Homes staff, state and local public health agency employees, MNSure Navigators, county financial/eligibility workers, county case managers, or any county staff in emergency management of health and human services).

School staff will be expected to develop on-going Distance Learning plans, should they be needed past March 30th.
