The F/MCC Warriors traveled to Parkston, SD on Saturday to participate in a 15 team individual tournament. The Warriors wrestled Dawson Blankenship, Danny Blankenship, Logan Clarke, Christian Kuball, Ryder Henning, Rylan Behnke, Keigan Behnke, and Koyer Wendorff.
Dawson Blankenship at 106# was slated against Miller from Howard SD. Dawson came out and wrestled a tough match, but ended up giving up a fall to the #3 ranked opponent to put Dawson in the consolation rounds. Next up for Dawson was an opponent from McCook Central. Dawson came out and took his opponent down and pinned his opponent in the first period. Dawson’s next opponent was from Sisseton. Dawson had to wrestle all three periods against his opponent and Dawson ended up winning 8-1. The next wrestler that lined up against Dawson was from Clear Lake. Dawson wasted no time taking the lead against his opponent. Dawson ended up winning via fall. Dawson’s final match of the day was another Howard wrestler. Dawson came out and tried taking his opponent down. Dawson was countered by his Howard opponent and taken down and Dawson ended up losing 11-2. Dawson ended at 3-2 for the day and wrestled his best tournament so far for the year.
Next up was Danny Blankenship at 120#. Danny drew a bye first round and moved on to the quarterfinals. Danny wrestled a Miller/Highmore wrestler. Danny came out and took his opponent down and did not waste much time. Danny pinned his opponent in the 2nd period. In the semi finals Danny was up against a wrestler from Webster. Danny took the lead 11-0 and then his Webster opponent started the comeback. Danny ended up winning the match 14-9 to put him in the finals against an opponent from Sisseton. Danny started the match in finals wrestling his opponent tough. Danny ended up being down after the first period 6-0. In the second period Danny was caught on his feet and thrown to his back only to lose via fall. Danny placed 2nd at the Parkston tournament.
