Fatal crash near Lismore reported last Wednesday

The Minnesota State Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash  near Lismore  that occurred on April 18, 2018, due to ice covered roads. The incident happened at 6:48 a.m.

According to the report, a 2007 Rav 4, driven by Carlos Cordero Alvarez, age 26, Worthington, MN, was southbound on Hwy 91, near 160th Street when the driver lost control and crossed the center line colliding with a northbound 2011 Ford pick-up truck.

The driver of the Ford pick-up was Steven Andrew Steffl, Lake Wilson, MN, age 64.

Alvarez did not survive the crash. His passenger, Marvin Ottoniel Perez Zunun, age 33, Worthington, MN, was transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Steffl was also transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Nobles County and Murray County Sheriff’s offices, and the Lismore, Chandler and Adrian fire departments, along with Adrian and Edgerton Ambulance Services, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation were at the scene of the accident.
