After 54 years of full-time priestly ministry, Father Fred Elskamp will have time enough at last to catch up on his reading.
He retired as pastor of St. Andrew parish in Tipton on July 1 and moved to a home he recently bought in Jefferson City. “This is going to be a bit of an adjustment,” he noted. “I’ve been keeping quite busy for a good number of years.”
He’s looking forward to stopping to notice some of God’s simpler blessings that he may have overlooked.
