First National Bank recognized as Business of the Month for November

First National Bank has been named the November Business of the Month by the Fulda Area Community Club. The business is located at 109 N. St. Paul Avenue, Fulda, MN. It is owned by Fulda Bancorporation, a one bank holding company owned by Frank L. Farrar.

First National Bank commenced operations in Fulda in 1985. Since then, the company has grown to twelve locations in four states:

• Minnesota – Fulda, Lakefield, Hastings, Spring Valley, Leroy, Slayton and Plymouth

• South Dakota – Oldham and Ramona

• Iowa – Davenport

• Illinois – Moline and Cairo

The First National Bank building was built in 1918-1919 and originally known as First National Bank. It became known as Citizens State Bank with an ownership change in 1930 and with an ownership change in 1985 became First National Bank again. The building was constructed by the Lytle Company of Sioux City, IA which was known for its distinctive use of building materials. The bank interior retains some of the original furnishings – mahogany woodwork, Italian marble, white, and dark green ceramic floor and moulded plaster coffered ceiling.
