Youth at First Presbyterian Church of Fulda participated in a Heroes of Hunger food drive on Sunday, October 22nd to collect non-perishable food items. The items were used to put together Thanksgiving meal baskets for local families in need and to help stock the shelves at the Fulda Food Shelf.
Two younger Sunday School classes organized the baskets on Sunday, November 5th. They were delivered to the Fulda Food Shelf on Monday, November 6th.
Thanksgiving remains a time to help struggling families prepare for their own holiday traditions with a Thanksgiving food basket. As the holidays draw near, many families begin preparing for abundant feasts and old family traditions. However, for many more, the holidays often mean a struggle simply to provide a Thanksgiving turkey for their children.
The First Presbyterian Church youth are grateful to all who donated and participated in their Heroes of Hunger project which has allowed them to extend acts of kindness to others.
