You may feel a sense of it’s all about the paws at Four Paws Grooming. Laura Bowen recently opened the doors as the area’s newest groomer. Bowen bought the former Hamples building at 2513 Broadway Avenue in Slayton in 
March. She and Steve Erickson have been busy since Bowen signed the papers creating the perfect space for dogs and cats. The space was completely gutted and recreated.
Bowen is an experienced dog groomer and decided to move her business from the Twin Cities area to Slayton. “I’m really excited about this adventure,” shared Bowen. “The people here have been so welcoming. I’m used to an area where you don’t even know your next door neighbor. It’s very refreshing to have people smile and say ‘hi’.” “It’s so much more of a community here,” commented Bowen. “People are friendly and really care about one another.” She grew up on a farm near North Branch – north of the Twin Cities.
