This spring, two Fulda area Nobles County 4-H members received their own Nigerian dwarf goats from the Great Goat Giveaway. Those 4-Hers were Molly Clarke, daughter of Katie and Doug Clarke and Faith White, daughter of Lorie and Doug White.
Recently, Molly and Faith talked about the Great Goat Giveaway and the Nigerian dwarf goats that they received.
Molly, who is the daughter of Doug and Katie Clarke, will be showing her goat at the Nobles County Fair in the Senior Doe Kid (Dairy) division. The goat show is scheduled for Thursday, August 2nd, 5 p.m. in Olson Arena.
Molly’s goat, Trixie, was born on March 9th, 2018, and came to live at the Clarke farm in April. When asked how she learned to take care of Trixie, Molly said, “There is a lady who raises a lot of goats and she has taught us how to take care of them. We take Trixie out of the barn and tie her up by a tree so that she can move around more and eat grass. I also feed her corn, mineral and grass hay. She needs a good shelter and water. She has grown a lot since I got her.”
Molly also puts a leash on Trixie and takes her for walks.
