The Fulda Area Big Band will be part of the opening festivities for the 2017 Wood Duck Festival, presenting a ‘Concert-In-the-Park’ at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15th, on the Vi and Maynard Larson Band Shell in Fulda’s City Park. Many of the classic and familiar favorites will be played including “In the Mood” “Stars Fell On Alabama” “Sentimental Journey” “American Patrol” “Tea For Two” “Birth of the Blues” “Little Brown Jug” and “A String of Pearls.” Directed by Mike Peterson, the Fulda Area Big Band features many area musicians, including several from Fulda and Worthington, a couple from Sioux Falls, and many that are alumni of the Fulda High School Band Program. The Fulda HS Raider VB team will also be sponsoring a fundraising Burger Supper starting at 5pm and serving until the food is gone! Have a great start to the Fulda Wood Duck celebration on Thursday evening by enjoying a great meal, and listening to some ‘classic’ and ‘timeless’ big band music! See you in the park, and don’t forget your lawn chair!
Also at 5 p.m., the Big Band will be holding an open rehearsal on the City Park Band Shell Stage.
