Studio Z, located at 117 N. St. Paul Avenue, and owned and operated by Holly Zins Rohlik, has been named as the Fulda Area Community Club’s February Business of the Month.
A 2006 graduate of Fulda High School, Rohlik attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN, majoring in Profession Photography. It was there that she was taught the fundamentals of photography and started doing sessions as part of her assignments for school. After graduation, she worked in a photography studio in Thief River Falls, MN for 4 years. While employed there, she was introduced to the behind the scenes of how a photography business is run. She continued doing sessions on the side.
Studio Z opened its first store front on April 1st, 2012 on main street in Fulda.
Sharing the history of the building that houses Studio Z, Rohlik said, “The land was given to The Sioux City & Saint Paul Rail Company in March of 1876. Work was started to build a hotel in 1881. From then the property has been the home to a Country Harness & Saddle store, a grocery store, a Benjamin Franklin, D&M Variety, and an insurance building, before becoming a photography studio.”
Rohlik is grateful for the support received from the Fulda community over the past almost eight years. She has enjoyed each and every photography session. “There have been some heartfelt moments, some tears but so much more laughter,” she commented.
