Thomas Probst, Fulda’s well-known jeweler, passed away at the age of 84 years, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. He was born on December 19, 1934.
Probst, along with his wife, Elaine, opened Probst Jewelry in Fulda in January of 1960. The couple built their business on cheerful customer service and a large selection of quality merchandise.
They continued to operate Probst Jewelry together until Tom’s health began to fail. Elaine was dedicated to keeping the business open and operating a couple of days per week until she began caring for Tom, at home, on a full-time basis.
A retirement sale for Probst Jewelry was held during 2018.
A memorial service for Mr. Probst will be held at a later date, with arrangements pending at Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, MN.
