Mediacom sent notice that rates will increase in September by $10 per month.
Fire Chief David Baumhoefner asked if he or a council member should be carrying the ball for the new fire hall. Mayor John Martens said he was disappointed in the study that was presented at the last meeting that the cheapest option was 2.5 million dollars. He said he would have difficulty asking taxpayers to increase their taxes by five hundred dollars per year. Baumhoefner said the improvements are needed for safety and the ability to get trucks in the building. Several on the council sided with the mayor. There will be a public meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 13, at 6:30 p.m.. The community and the townships are invited to have their say.
