Fulda FFA Chapter members participate in 88th Minnesota Convention

Nineteen members of the Fulda FFA Chapter participated in 88th Minnesota FFA Convention that  was held April 23-25 in St. Paul.  Members of the Fulda delegation received recognition and competed in numerous events at this year’s state convention.

     Jonathan Gehl, Jarred Jans and Austin Thier of the Fulda FFA Chapter were among 288 FFA members that were awarded the 2017 Minnesota State FFA Degree.   To be eligible for the Minnesota FFA Degree, a student must have earned and invested at least $2,000 dollars by his or her own efforts; completed a minimum of two years of classroom instruction in an agriculture study and complete twenty-five hours of community service.  In addition to earnings and investment, students must demonstrate knowledge, skill and competency development.

Kennedy Deuschle was recognized as a state finalist in the 2017 Minnesota State FFA Proficiency Award Program, Deuschle finished 3rd in Equine Production Placement.  Proficiency awards are a way for students to showcase the skills and knowledge gained through their supervised agricultural experience (SAE).

      All of the members in attendance were involved in state FFA Career Developments Events (CDE’s) in five areas, CDEs are competitive activities that tests students’ skills in all areas of their respective competition.
