Fulda Fire Department Block Party

October 7-13 is fire prevention week.  The theme for the week is “Look. Listen. Learn.  Be Aware. Fire Can Happen Anywhere.”

The Fulda Volunteer Fire Department has for many years invited the school children of Fulda to the fire hall to learn about fire prevention, what to do in case of a fire, and how to stay safe at home.

The fire department would like to now offer that same type of education to the adults of our community as well.

On Friday, October 12, the Fulda Fire Department will be putting on a Block Party at the Fulda Fire Hall from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Everyone is invited to come ride in a fire truck, shoot high-volume water from a hose, meet the men and women who serve on the department, see the equipment used for fire suppression and rescue efforts, get fire safety information, learn about smoke detectors, spray fire extinguishers, use the jaws of life, and enjoy a bowl of chili.

The Fulda Fire Department Block Party is completely free and fun for the whole family, due to the generosity of a Community Action grant from Thrivent Financial.
