On Friday, April 17th, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz asked fire service departments to help battle COVID-19 in their home communities by allowing residents to drop off homemade cloth face masks at fire stations throughout the state. The date and time set for the drop is Saturday, April 25th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“The Fulda Fire Department will be staffing a homemade mask drop off at the Fulda Fire Hall as requested by the Governor. We will have a table for donations to be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25th. Masks can be individually bagged or we will bag them if they are dropped off in larger quantities,” Fulda Fire Department Chief David Baumhoefner stated.
Following the drop-off event, the Fulda Fire Department will coordinate with the Murray County Emergency Manager to distribute the masks to area congregate care facilities for their employees and residents to wear.
