The Warrior wrestlers were on the road once again this past weekend making the trek to Parker, South Dakota. The young wrestling group were one of 15 teams competing with Marshall, MN earning top honors with 270 points. Fulda-Murray County Central came in at 13th finishing the day with 16 points.
Weighing in at 106 pounds Landen Like-Bonstetter, freshman was caught in his opening round by Quincy Hulverson (Tea Area) at 1:48. In Consoluation round 1 Landen picked up victory with a 3-2 decision over Ethan Johnson (Kinbsbury County). His third bout Landen was pitted against Spenser Eldeen of Mitchell, SD who went on to pin Landen at the 2:00 mark in the match.
Rylan Behnke, 145, was put on his back in his opening round by Jackson Hughes of Marshall. Behnke went on to the consolation round 1 picking up win by making quick work of Matthew Grage (Yankton) in pinning him just 17 seconds into the match. His third match was against Marquis Reyelts (Mitchell) with Behnke also making quick work of him putting Reyelts shoulders to the mat in just 27 seconds. Behnke moved on to the fourth round where he did battle against Ty Beyer (Howard) boosting a 28-14 overall record. Behnke battled on the mat however in the end Beyer was able to capture the victory with a pin at the 3:00 mark in the contest.
