December 5th 2019 – Pipestone MN, – On the road in Minnesota Class A wrestling the Fulda/MCC Warriors took on the Wabasso/Red Rock Central Bobcats, and the Pipestone Arrows in a triangular dual. The Warriors wrestling program led by head coach Nick Henning and assistant coach Cody Kremer fell 72-12 against the Arrows followed by another team loss against the Wabasso/Red Rock Central Bobcats with a score of 60-3. Despite dropping both duals the team had some outstanding victories, and impressive performances.
The Warriors first road duals of the season in Pipestone had a vibrant attendance as the three schools brought a good crowd to cheer them on at the Pipestone High School Gymnasium.
Denver Ash got the Warriors’ first points of the season on the board at the 106 pound weight class with a dominant performance against Mikale Goblirsch of the Wabasso/Red Rock Central Bobcats. Denver came out firing as did Mikale. An early takedown by Mikale wasn’t enough as Denver was able to tie the match with a reversal ending the 1st period with a score of 2-2. The second period saw more scoring as Denver started on bottom referees’ position and scored with a 1 point escape, and a takedown of his own, ending the second period 5-2 Denver. Ash controlled the entire third period as he was able to score two takedowns only giving up 1 escape ending the match with a final score of 9-3. Earning an early lead giving the team 3 points with the decision.
The Warriors wouldn’t see another victory until Christian Kuball wrestled his bout against Pipestones’ Aiden Voss. Christian hammered Aiden with multiple single leg takedowns before finally turning and pinning Aiden in a knuckle roll half with 59 seconds left in the first period.
