Just one day after Johnny Appleseed’s acknowledged birthday of September 26th, Fulda Elementary School preschoolers toured Stonegate Orchard, located north of Slayton on US Highway 59. Orchard owners, Jenni and Jason Kirchner, talked with the children about the 15-acre orchard and the many different types of apples grown, as well as having them spend some time in the store. As the students returned to school, they brought along an apple to enjoy.
