Fulda Raider girls advance in playoffs with finest performance

The Fulda Raider Girls Basketball team knew their time as a team, and as the Raiders, was drawing to a close. They responded with their best performance of the year, crushing the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers 59-33 in front of a nice home crowd. The Raiders hit 8 3-point baskets and used great team defense to stifle the Chargers attack, ending the “Raider Girls” period of the Fulda gym with a 59-33 win .

It was a wire to wire win for the Raiders, who got an early 3 from Khloe Gehl to get the scoring started on the way to a 9-0 run. The Raiders pushed their lead as high as 21-4 in a defensively dominated first half, before leading 21-10 at the half. WWG only scored 2 field goals in the entire first half as the Raiders shut down Charger penetration and did not allow space on the outside. Only some foul trouble let WWG back into the game before half time. But a balance Raider attack took Fulda into the locker room with a lead.
