MADELIA — Trailing by nine points with time winding down in a highly-competitive and evenly-played high school football game at Madelia last Friday evening (October 7), the Fulda Raiders rallied with two late touchdowns and left the field with a hard-fought — and well-earned — 27-22 victory over the Blackhawks, who defeated FHS by a convincing 66-14 score at Fulda 54 weeks earlier (September 25, 2015).
This year’s turnaround was made possible by a strong all-around team effort by a much-improved Fulda squad, which won its third game of the season Friday, after going 1-8 last fall.
Senior veterans Justin Dierks and Brandon Everett connected seven times on passing plays in Friday’s win, including the game-winning 10-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds left in an action-packed fourth quarter.
