Fulda Speech team participates in area meets over the past two weeks

Coach Chris Bambrick and Assistant Coach Jessica Mitchell have shared that the Fulda High School Speech Team has been earning good placements at recent area meets.

At the Varsity Meet in Redwood Falls, held on Saturday, February 16th, Junior High Speech Team members placeing include Isabel Runkel – 7th in Discussions, Tavan Mitchell  – 6th Place in Discussions, Journey Mitchell  – 2nd Place in Drama, Sierra Goedtke – 6th Place in Extemporaneous Reading, H-too Han  – 6th Place in Informative, Lili Nielsen – 4th Place in Prose, Simon Spittle – 1st Place Storytelling, and Irish Hollahan and Olivia Wehking took 1st Place Duo.

At the Junior High meet held in Tracy, MN on Monday, February 18th, placements were Isabel Runkel – 6th in Discussion, Samantha Bultmann – 6th in Drama, Simon Spittle and Keegan Spittle – ribbon in Duo, Hailey Quinn – ribbon in Humor, Caleb Appel – 5th in Humor, H-too Han – 3rd in Informative, Olivia Clarke – 6th in Poetry, Lili Nielsen – 2nd in Prose, Irish Hollahan and Olivia Wehking – 1st in Duo.

The team saw more success when they attended the junior high tournament held at Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Tuesday, February 26th.

Competing for the first time at the meet were sixth graders Autumn Kor and Mason Ommen.

Faith White, who competed for the first time this year as well,  took 4th overall in Creative Expressions.

Two team members placed in Drama with Sierra Rummens earning her first top finish of her career with 4th place and Journey Mitchell finished second overall due to a tie-breaker.

Samantha Bultmann earned an honorable mention in Drama.

Olivia Wehking and Irish Hollahan placed 2nd overall with Simon Spittle and Keegan Spittle placing 1st.

Sierra Goedtke placed 6th in Extemporaneous Reading.

The public is invited to attend the Fulda Speech Team’s annual Speech Showcase on Tuesday, March 12th, 6 p.m.

The Fulda Speech team traveled to Luverne on Saturday, March 2nd.

Journey Mitchell placed 5th in Drama, Logan Clarke received 6th in Creative, Hailee Guinn took 4th in Prose, Simon Spittle placed 5th in Storytelling, Irish Hollahan and Olivia Wehking took 5th in Duo and Lili Nielsen received Red Ribbon in Prose.
