On Wednesday morning students at Fulda Elementary School took on the challenge of making holiday-themed table centerpieces for the Tuesday, December 4th, UFFDA Hotdish Cook-Off.
Administration and staff created teams of students, mixing in all ages in each team. The students met in several of the classrooms throughout the school, giving them more room to be creative.
Each classroom was assigned certain table centerpieces to make. For instance, in the kindergarten room, the centerpieces to be created were Christmas trees. The project began with a tall conical shaped foundation in white. The students were given wide strips of red and green construction paper and instructed to cut one edge of each strip so that it appeared to be fringed. The strips of red and green were glued, alternately, to the cone.
