Fulda Summer Rec Softball is well underway with excitement, fun and friends

After beginning practice on June 12th, The elementary team headed to Worthington on June 15th for their first game. Several girls were able to swing their way on base and with big hits from Emily Madison and Faith White, Fulda softball came home with their first win of the summer.

Next up was a couple of home games against Edgerton on the 23rd. The elementary team came with their best and a couple of last inning runs kept the in it, but were unable to keep up and came away with a loss. The Junior High Team had much better luck and a big third inning, starting with a hit from Chrissy Hermeling was able to give them the edge they needed to get the lead and keep it.

They next headed to Edgerton for a tournament. The first game was against Adrian and proved a difficult match up for Fulda. Fighting valiantly to find a way on base, they came up short. The next two match ups were against two different Edgerton teams. The second game ended in excitement as the score went back and forth each inning. Cheers from the Fulda side erupted as they again pulled ahead in the fourth and last inning. But a huge hit from an Edgerton girl ended the game and brought the third loss of the day.

The next day, the girls were ready for their next match up as they faced Adrian again—This time at home. The elementary girls got several good hits to make their way around the bases but were unable to measure up to the Adrian girls and lost after four long innings. The last game of the day was with the Junior High team. A long last inning of open number of runs gave the girls the time they needed to make their way around the field and first catch up to Adrian and finally win the game with a 13-12 score.
